How To Wire The Motor Protection Relay

Update time:Nov 24 , 2023 Views:48

The motor protection relay is specially used to protect the motor. There is a thermistor inside the motor. When wiring, the thermistor leads out and connects to the 1T1 2T1. The thermistor is a positive coefficient resistor, that is, the resistance varies. As the temperature rises, the internal resistance will change and the resistance will become larger.

Since the wiring is that the coils A1 and A2 are energized, the normally open contact becomes normally closed, and the normally closed signal is connected to the plc. The plc detects that the temperature of the motor is normal, so it will proceed to the next step and run normally.

When the temperature of the photoresistor rises in the motor, the coil A1 and A2 will be cut off, causing the normally closed contact of the plc to return to the original normally open contact. The PLC detects that the motor fault temperature is too high, and the operating conditions are insufficient, and the operation is stopped. The motor protection plays a role in protecting the motor.

At this time, you can check whether the cause of the motor alarm is mechanical problems or motor load, internal coils and motor bearings, etc., which can prevent the motor from burning out.

Motor temperature relay can protect 4 motor wirings: 1T2 2T2 one group 1T3 2T3 group 1T4 2T4 group

If only one group is used on site or 4 groups of motor protection are not enough. The unused group should be short-circuited to form a path, and the coil is the path at this time. Otherwise, do not short-circuit, the open-circuit resistance will be infinite, resulting in different coils, and the motor will be protected by mistake.
